When you were installing carpet there are several things he needs think about in order to make sure that the carpet is getting install properly.  Without the right tools you’ll have bubbles or other indentations in the carpet that are really hard to get out.  When you’re installing your own carpet there are several things that you need to know about and have in order to make sure that the installation goes according to plan.  Here are some things that everybody needs when they are installing their own carpet so that it is perfect without any blemishes or any raised areas in the carpet itself.

One thing that you need before you decide to start installing your carpet is tack strips.  Tack strips are used to hold the carpet in place along the outer walls.  Without these strips the carpet would be allowed to move all over the floor when you are trying to install it.  The carpet will fasten to the strips along the outer wall where doors are not.  There are other things to attach the carpet to the floor through the opening of the door without using the strips with sharp points.

Another thing that you need when you are installing carpet is a kicker.  A kicker is a tool that is used to grab the carpet and push it tightly up against the outer wall before you walk into the tack strip.  The kicker has little hooks on one end of it so that it can grab the carpet without wrecking it so that you’ll be able to push it back and lock it in the strip.  Once you have this done it will eliminate all of the indentations or imperfections in the carpet.  This will also make sure the carpet is pulled tight across the room so there are no raised areas in the entire carpet.

Another thing that you want to make sure of is that you have cover plates so that you can cover the edges of the carpet in opening like the door areas.  You want to be able to make sure that the carpet is going to stay down so that nobody trips over it when they enter the room.
